Hidden words apply to any of your private messages, comments, and posts displayed on your Instagram account feed. Hidden words can also apply to any tags that are attached to a post. If tags contain any of the words on your hidden words list, you simply won’t see them – or the entire post will be omitted.
The feature also applies to any friend requests or profiles that contain some of the keywords you’ve selected.
Hidden words can also apply to some of the advertising content that you are shown by the site. Users are encouraged to seek out their Advertising settings, found under Privacy, to make sure that they’re seeing more of the Instagram ads they’ve opted-in for.
Where to find Hidden Words on Instagram
Enhance your comment and message request filtering by adding specific words, phrases, numbers, or even emojis to your custom list. These entries will then be automatically concealed from comments on your shared posts or message requests, ensuring a more pleasant online experience. You have the flexibility to edit this list whenever you wish.
- Click More in the bottom left, then click Settings.
- Click How others can interact with you on the left.
- Click Manage comment settings below Comments.
- Enter specific words, phrases, numbers, or emojis you want to hide in the text box.
- Click Submit to save the list.
